What is neo.org intended to be?

A new declaration of earth citizenship
Neo.org is founded on a set of basic principles by which anyone can live. The Declaration was written by a group of anonymous authors and simply states we are all from Earth and we need to work together if we are to survive and thrive as a diverse biosphere.

Actions you can take
  • Sign the Neo Declaration
  • Create your own neo.org profile
  • Upload your real photo
  • Invite people you know to do the same.
A social network with a point
Neo.org is a social network with a purpose - to transform the world by enabling people to transform themselves.
Actions you can take
  • Make your own Personal Declaration for Action saying what you stand for to make the world a better place (It can be something small or something big as long as it is something good).
  • Invite people you know to support your declaration. (The more supporters your declaration gets the more impact it can have)
A personally empowering experience for individuals and organizations
Neo.org is a public safe space for you, your organization or your company to give your word to something worthwhile and follow it up with action that others can see and support. It is a place to spread your word across your social graph and the world.
Actions you can take
  • Spread your word by telling the people you know!
  • Continue to revise your personal declaration to keep it current with your commitment
A micro blogging platform
Neo.org allows you to share your activities, failures, successes and challenges in realizing your personal declaration.
Actions you can take
  • Post on your forum the actions you and others are taking to forward your declaration and the results you are getting. You may post in text, audio/video and pictures.(When you have lots of activity and numbers of supporters Neo.org will notice)
  • Engage in discussions with others on Neo.org who might share your values or purpose using the tag map to zoom in on people in your area (or your area of interest) who have the same tags as you.
  • Post messages on the home page after picking people who have the same interests as you; in turn, they will see the messages appear in their forums.
A new global currency for good

Neo.org is implementing a global philanthropic economic trading system to allow goods and services to be exchanged between people doing good in the world while rewarding performance of good deeds. The virtual currency for this system is called the "Neo" - the equivalent of ten minutes of human effort and/or 100 base units of local currency (100 Cents/One Dollar, 100 pence/One Pound, 100 Euro Cents/One Euro, 100 Yen, 100 Canadian Cents/One Canadian Dollar, etc.).

In the coming months there will be ways to exchange, buy, sell and transfer Neos to others for goods and services. In the future we hope to offer other kinds of value from third parties in exchange for Neos.

Neos allow value to be exchanged across borders and in places where conventional currency is unavailable to the people who need it. You will be able to exchange your Neos by simple text messages. Your Neos will be recorded and made public on your Neo profile.

Actions you can take
  • Get funded and resourced by being active on Neo.org which publicly records your activity; we start looking for funding and expertise for you to accelerate the impact of what you are achieving; the more active you are the more Neos you will receive; and the more you achieve the more support and resources you can access.
  • Support others’ declarations by adding your voice to theirs; there is enough to go round if we use it wisely in the world.
  • Take a stand and record what you do to support your stand everyday; it’s likely to be far more interesting than telling people what you had for breakfast and it will look better on your resume.

Some more about neo.org

Our common goal

The mission of Neo.org is to attract co-signers who hold the Declaration as their own, take responsibility for spreading the word amongst their networks, add their Personal Declarations for Action and then take actions to further these declarations. This is the covenant between Neo.org and each co-signer. Once this covenant has been formalized it is the role of Neo.org to support co-signers' Personal Declarations for Action without imposing any agendas of its own.

Who can take part?

Neo.org is about you! Everything here is designed to be compatible with the many and varied faiths and ideologies found on our planet. As long as you were born on this Earth you are welcome here!

What are the key principles behind it?

The work is done with powerful and explicit language with integrity (honoring your word in an empowering context). Committing oneself in word is the start of committed action; there is power is the words of declaration when there's integrity behind them.

The Personal Declarations for Action are bold tellings - promises and commitments - that can be shared and adopted collectively by others if they are so moved.

There is synergy when intentions and declarations are aligned, increasing the likelihood of the desired outcomes; we can do together what we are unable to do individually. The greater the number of aligned souls, the greater the probability of collective action and acceptance.

Neo is a public space. All posts in forums and declarations as well as acts of support are visible to the public; this makes Neo safe for everyone to use as no covert activity can occur; children are free to participate in making our collective future brighter.
